|Upon the rock||

Building on the rock means, first of all, to build on Christ and with Christ. These are not just the empty words of some person or another; these are the words of Jesus. We are not listening to any person: we are listening to Jesus. We are not asked to commit to just anything; we are asked to commit ourselves to the words of Jesus.

|A narrow gate||
Decision-making is an inescapable feature of our lives. Some decisions - the-what-shall-I-wear-today kind – are small, but others may have to do with the future direction of my life and are, therefore, major. Important decisions require much more thought. |Humble and Perfect||
If you love those who love you, what right have you to claim any credit? Even the tax collectors do as much, do they not? And if you save your greetings for your brothers, are you doing anything exceptional? Even the pagans do as much, do they not? You must therefore be perfect just as your heavenly Father is perfect
